Description

Xiaomi has a lot of devices that cater to the budget-conscious segment of the market, this is not to say they do no thave high-end smartphones as well. This is one of the largest brands in the world coming in the list of top 5 all over and the number one brand within China.

The many budget-friendly options include the Remi 8A.

The Redmi 8a display and camera

An entry-level budget phone from Xiaomi, the Redmi 8A has a good deal of features that work well. One general dislike has been that the screen isn't bright enough. The display is a good 6.22-inch screen that has a near bezel-less design, the chin has some space; along with a water-drop notch for the selfie camera. The resolution of the screen is at 720 x 1,520 pixels. With the main camera optics being 12MP, f/1.9, 1/2.55", dual pixel PDAF and an LED Flash. The front camera is an 8MP that is HDR ready and shoots 1080p video at 30 frames per second. The camera also features face detection and panorama shots.

Internal build

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset. This is an entry-level chipset, given that the price is also closer to the lowest end it is a fair choice. It holds two Cortex A53 Quad-Core processors clocking 1.95GHz and 1.45GHz speeds. The RAM at 2GB is a basic amount with a variant that comes with 3GB as well. The Adreno 505, also by Qualcomm, takes care of the graphics processing.

Storage, connectivity and battery

The built-in storage is 32GBs, this is admittedly somewhat less in today's data-hungry world. There is the option to extend it up to 512GB by using a dedicated memory card slot, that is ample expansion to cover most needs.

For networking and sharing, the device has standard features 4G with VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and MicroUSB. The battery has a huge 5000mAh capacity and is based on Li-Polymer technology, these batteries have a longer overall life. The form factor of Li-Polymer batteries can also be thinner than the Li-Ion ones.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A would make for a good budget-friendly phone, as basic as it is it does have enough functions to cover one's regular needs.
