Description
Build & Display
The S1 Pro is the successor and the Pro version of the mid-range blockbuster Vivo S1. Bearing many similarities to its predecessor, the Vivo S1 Pro's display is undisputed in this price range. Phone's back is curved and made out of glossy plastic which gives a good grip. Despite being made out of plastic the phone feels quite premium in your hand but rivalling brands like Redmi offer Gorilla Glass in this price range. Though Gorilla Glass is loved by most, plastic gives better durability and is more resistant to accidental blows and scratches.
Cameras
Vivo S1 Pro has a beautiful quad-camera setup on the rear set in a diamond-shaped array. The main 48 MP camera gives a good performance with fine detail and a great dynamic range. It uses Samsung's GM1 sensor which is actually 12MP but is interpolated to perform like 48MP. The front selfie camera is a 32 MP shooter that takes nice selfies. Overall the cameras offer average performance.
Performance & Battery
The Vivo S1 Pro comes with an 8 GB RAM and a Snapdragon 665 chipset which is quite a weak processor for this price range. Vivo S1 Pro should have had a 700 series processor for the price bracket it falls in. Operating system used is Android 9.0 (Pie) and the GPU is Adreno 610 which is another disappointment for this price range as an Adreno 612 would've been a better choice. The phone is great for everyday usage of light apps but for heavy apps this phone gets laggy. For avid gamers, this phone may be slow and not a good option. Vivo S1 Pro gives fast charging facility and includes an 18W fast charger. Though S1 Pro charges up to a full 100% in over 2 to 2.5 hours which is quite slow, its battery endurance is quite high. With moderate to heavy usage, the S1 Pro will last one whole day.
