Description

An entry-level Samsung

A brand that generally has more expensive phones, but also releases a few smartphones that are from a low-end price point. The Samsung Galaxy A01 is one such model. A phone that has all the needed functions, but with entry-level specs and a price to match.

Internals and OS

With an octa-core processor that is combined with a minimal 16GB of storage space and 2GB of RAM. The storage can be expanded further via a microSD card slot, up to 512GB. This can sort out one's storage needs. The OS is based on the Google Android platform, with version 10 running the systems. Layered over that is their proprietary skin known as OneUI 2.0. This gives users some extra customisation options, improving one's interaction with their device.

Camera and display

As with most of the other specs, the cameras on the Samsung Galaxy A01 are also somewhat basic. With a 13MP main lens and a secondary 2MP lens for depth sensing. For the selfie camera, it is a single 5MP lens. Shooting modes include HDR and panorama. The display one uses to shoot their images is a 5.7-inch screen. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and with a resolution of 720 x 1560pixels.

Sensors, connectivity and battery

The sensors included in the Samsung Galaxy A01 include a proximity detector, a gyro and an accelerometer. Lacking a fingerprint reader. For connectivity, the options include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Radio and a microUSB port. The Galaxy A01 also retains the headphone jack. Powering all this is a 3000mAh battery, which is more than ample for a phone running these specs.

The Samsung Galaxy A01 is a phone belonging to the lower end of the price spectrum, the specs give as much away. It is great for a budget buyer or someone looking for a secondary, cheaper phone.
