Pros & Cons
Great camera results
Good gaming performance
Prone to scratches
Average build quality
Average touch response
Display & Design
Frame and back are made out of plastic with a glossy finish that is prone to fingerprints and scratches. The built quality is average in this price range. Realme 5s has a large display of 6.5 inches with ample brightness and punchy colours. You can easily use the phone in broad daylight as the screen doesn't go dark or unreadable under bright lights. For nighttime usage, you can dim the brightness to the lowest levels for reducing eye strain. It offers 10 point multitouch but the touch response isn't that great which is common in all Realme phones. Realme 5s features a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting headphones or Auxillary devices. Realme 5s colours include Crystal Purple, Crystal Blue and Crystal Red.
Performance & Quality
Realme 5s delivers average performance. Its touch is not smooth while playing games such as PUBG. There are a few lags while playing high intensive games mainly because of the low touch response. Otherwise, the phone delivers a good gaming performance. The sound quality on the phone is loud but some distortion is evident when the volume is set at full blast. Surprisingly the sound quality is better on headphones. The battery gives excellent mileage and the phone doesn't heat up even while gaming.
Realme 5s features a quad camera setup on the rear that includes a 48 MP main shooter, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor camera. The real downer is the macro lens that gives poor results and is a pure gimmick. The main 48MP camera is a real treat as it gives sharp results with ample detail. You can enhance the results by installing the Google camera app rather than using the stock cam app. The 13MP selfie camera gives decent results as well.
