A condiment that is widely used, mostly as a dip or as a salad dressing, which is why it is also called Ranch dressing. The flavours include a tang, garlic and hints of whatever herbs are mixed by the specific brand. It is made by many different brands and the prices are nominal.
Ranch sauce or ranch dressing is of American origin, it is the creation of Steve Henson. He came up with this, now, world-famous concoction while working in the remote Alaskan bush in the early 1950s. In 1954 he and his wife opened the Hidden Valey Ranch where they served this sauce to customers. It eventually caught on and the couple started bottling it so people can buy it to take along.
Over time it became famous all over the world, with Hidden Valey as one of the main brands producing it even today.
