Pros & Cons
Only one future Android update guaranteed
Macro and low light shooting not great
OnePlus is all about simplicity in design and use. Their devices are all made with that ethos in mind, including the Nord N10. A device that is in a more affordable range.
The brand is from the same family as Vivo, Realme and Oppo, all of whom are owned by BBK Electronics.
OnePlus Nord N10 OS and internals
The OS base in this device is Android 11, with their own OxygenOS 10 layered onto it. The base provides Machine Leaning abilities that let this device learn the user's patterns and then reflect a better performance based on that. The OxygenOS 10 allows for more personalisation compared to the base, which makes it great for users to play around with and customise their device to suit the feel they prefer.
At the heart of this device, we find the Snapdragon 690, a chipset made using the 8nm method. A method only a few away from the latest at the time of its release. This processor is also able to make use of 5G connectivity, giving users higher speed internet over their Data streams. Also included in this processor is the Adreno 619L, a GPU that can handle mid-level gaming with ease.
For storage, we have 128GB in the OnePlus Nord N10 and a 6GB RAM chip. In case the storage is less for you, you can add in a memory card of p to 256GB via a microSD card.
Display and camera
The screen on this device is at 6.5 inches, giving one ample viewing space. It is based on IPS LCD tech and has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, making it FullHD. Over this is layered Corning's Gorilla Glass 4, keeping your device safer.
A quad-camera system is what the main module features. The most powerful sensor being the 64MP f/1.8 that shoots a little wide. After this comes the 8MP f/2.3 that is used for ultrawide shots. The rest of the sensors are both 2MP f/2.4, one is for depth sensing while the other is used for macro shots. The main side can shoot 4K video, as well as 1080p with gyro-EIS so your shots are not shaky. The frame rates for the latter vary more.
This combined with the camera app allows for a lot of variation in shooting. So one can make use of modes such as HDR, pano, macro, low light and more.
On the front we find the selfie camera, this is a 16MP f/2.1 sensor. It can shoot video at 1080p and features gyro-EIS as well.
Connectivity, sensors and battery
A complete connectivity system is loaded into the Nord N10. With WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFA and Data. For wired connections, you can make use of a USB Type-C 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack that is great for quick audio connectivity. There is also the ability to host two SIMs via the DualSIM feature.
For apps to function properly the device needs feedback from a host of sensors and on this device the sensors include an accelerometer, compass, a gyro and a proximity sensor. There is also a fingerprint reader that is mounted on the rear for a quick way to unlock.
Powering all these systems is a 4300mAh battery that is based on Li-polymer technology. It features fast charging so you can top up in a faster time.
This device is available in a single colour known as Midnight Ice. Overall OnePlus Nord N10 is a quality device that is available for a price nearer the higher end of the mid-range.
