  • 4GB RAM

  • NFC at this price

Description

Nokia has a variety of options with Android as their OS. The Nokia G20 is a more affordable device with some features that are better than class and others that fit. The design is similar to most smartphones today, with slim bezels and a very narrow chin as well as a tiny notch into which the selfie camera is set. The DualSIM feature is present in this device, making it convenient to carry two numbers.

Internals and OS

The Nokia G20 has a MediaTek processor, the Helio G35 that is made using the 12nm method and is a more mid-level chipset. There is the PowerVR GE8320, a graphics processor that is optimised to be enough for affordable gaming. To provide tasking power to these, there is 4GB of RAM. The storage is at 64GB but can be extended via a microSDXC card.

This device has Android 11 as its OS. Plain android is super lean to run which makes operations snappy, this does however lack customisations that one may want. Still, the snappy performance makes up for the lack of customisations.

Display and cameras

There is a 6.52 inch display, which is a decent size at this cost. With a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, bringing the pixel density to 269 pixels per inch. The display is based on IPS LCD technology so the brightness is ample.

The main side has a quad-camera system. With the main sensor at 48MP f/1.8 and the secondary is at 5MP for the ultrawide shots. The other two are both 2MP, one of which is for depth sensing and the other is the macro shooter. Combined with the camera app, these sensors allow for HDR, Pano, Bokeh and more such modes. This gives users versatility with their photography.

For selfies, there is an 8MP camera that shoots a bit wide so one can get more into their shots. Video on both sides is at 1080p with a frame rate of 30fps.

Sensors, connectivity and the battery

Nokia has given the G20 an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and a gyro. These provide important feedback for apps to function. Connectivity systems include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, NFC and Data but up till 4G. Physical connectivity is achieved through either a USB TypeC 2.0 or a 3.5mm audio jack.

The battery on the Nokia G20 is massive, with a capacity of 5050mAh. This could easily last a whole day.
