A budget-friendly phone that is about as cheap as a smartphone can be while still having most functions. Despite the price, it is a well-designed phone that is also sturdy. The interchangeable back is different from other phones and more odd is the removable battery. This would allow for one to extend the phones life once the battery is done. Coming with an OS that is without bloatware so the phone has better overall performance.
Pros & Cons
Relatively slower performance
No fast charging
A good basic phone
An entry-level budget smartphone the Nokia 1 Plus it more refined than its predecessor with a physical design above its price point so it looks a lot better than what it costs. With lesser bezel and more display making it look sleeker, the design has definitely moved up. 12% thinner with a 5.45 inch IPS display and the resolution is sub-HD is 480 x 960 pixels but the Nokia 1 Plus’s 18:9 format stretches the screen value even further; making it current with the more elongated phone designs now. Although it won't be great and as sharp as most other displays but is functional enough to be worth it in this price.
General specs on the Nokia 1 Plus
The move to Android has helped Nokia take up some market space as it is a more standard OS and the 1 Plus comes with Android 9.0 Pie. The Nokia 1 Plus is run by a basic MT6739WW chipset produced by Mediatek which has 1GB RAM attached and quad-core processor clocking at 1.5GHz, keeping the phone stable and going. It comes with a PowerVR GE8100 chip for the graphics and to not load onto the main chip; that function can be handled separately and doesn't slow the overall performance of the phone. With 8GB of built-in storage and the option for an SD card that can add on 128GBs more, which should be ample space for all your files and information. A 2500mAh battery that is removable is odd almost as most smartphones do not allow you to change the battery! It charges using a MicroUSB cable that also can be used to transfer data to your smartphone. Retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack making connectivity easier as not all audio playback devices have Bluetooth.
The back cover and cameras
The rear cover is kind of like a rubberised case made from polycarbonate already with a texture that has a nanopattern and is easily swappable with backs of different colours that you can buy separately. As for the cameras, the Nokia 1 Plus has an 8MP rear camera that can shoot video in hi-res 720p at 30fps and a 5 MP front camera for selfies, these aren't great but again for a functional phone you are getting at a budget this is good.
You can't compete with anything in any other price point but you'll get your money's worth with the Nokia 1 Plus along with the advantage of good design.
