Infinix Note 5 Description

What's New

It comes in two variants namely the X604 and X604B. The Infinix Note 5 is the first flagship of the company to be a part of Google’s Android One programme, which is sure to give you a stock Android experience and guarantees regular updates.

Display & Design

Adorning a luxurious looking metal print on a plastic body specially crafted with cutting edge technology, the Infinix Note 5 showcases a smooth surface and beautiful curves on the edges. The phone has a 6-inch FHD 18:9 Infinity Display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixel and a pixel density of 402 ppi. Empowered by MiraVision, the Infinity Display ensures brilliant visual experience across extreme lighting conditions, at the same time saving your battery consumption by half. The 18:9 ratio makes the phone look narrow and tall. There is also a downward-firing speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack alongside the charging port. The phone was launched in Berlin Gray, Ice Blue and Milan Black colours.

Performance & Platform

It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo); Android One operating system and uses an Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, Mediatek MT6763 Helio P23 (16 nm) chipset and Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. Overall the phone gives a decent performance with few lags and glitches here and there. However, while playing PUBG at highest settings there are noticeable frame drops and the phone also gets overheated a little, which is fair at this price point.

Cameras

Infinix Note 5 only houses a single 12-megapixel camera at the back and comes with a tweaked up stock Android camera app, that gives you more features including Beauty, Portrait, Night, Panorama, and Professional modes. You will find a manual toggle for HDR and can apply filters before you take a shot. The camera has Google Lens integration that lets you identify what you are pointing at. The front selfie camera is a 16 MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 and also features an LED flash.

Battery, RAM & Internal Storage

The phone has a huge 4500mAh battery that makes it a little heavy at 175g. Battery mileage is great and will last 3 days of mediocre usage. The device features 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card in the dedicated slot. It is a dual-SIM device and has two Nano-SIM slots.

Connectivity & Sensors

The phone comes with wireless support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-OTG, and GPS. Sensors include Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light sensor, and e-compass.
