2020 MacBook Pro
The 13 inch Apple Mac Book Pro gets upgraded with an ergonomic keyboard and an updated processor. The basic model comes with Intel’s 8th Generation i5 processor, 256GB SSD storage and 8GB RAM. For a high powered combination, you can buy Apple's configuration with a 4TB SSD, 32GB RAM and Intel's 10th Generation i7 processor. You will find the Magic Keyboard in place of the butterfly keyboard and is equipped with the scissor mechanism. There is also a Touch Bar, Touch ID and a physical Escape key in place of the previous touch button.
2019 MacBook Pro
Apple upgraded its Touch Bar-equipped 13- and 15-inch Retina Mac Book Pros on May 21, 2019, introducing new 8th and 9th-generation Intel processors and a durable butterfly keyboard technology. The 13-inch variant offers 2 TB of storage while the 15-inch model features a 4TB storage capacity. Both variants come with True Tone display and Touch Bar. The 13-inch models use quad-core 8th-generation chips while the 15-inch version uses 6 or 8-core 9th-generation chips. With a resolution of 2880x1800 pixels, the display of the 15-inch variant has a pixel density of 220 ppi, while the 13-inch model features 2560x1600 resolution at 227 ppi.
The 15-inch model supports 32GB RAM while the 13-inch variant features a 16GB of RAM. Both models offer an upgraded third-generation butterfly keyboard which is an improvement over the previous iteration. Entirely constructed out of aluminium, both models are available in Silver and Space Gray. Sporting a thin hinge design, a wide Force Touch Trackpad, a Touch Bar and a third-generation butterfly keyboard, both models feature a no light-up rear Apple logo.
2019 Entry-Level Mac Book Pro
Apple also upgraded its entry-level MacBooks in July 2019. With the addition of 8th-generation Intel processors, the new entry-level machine features a Touch Bar, Touch ID, and a T2 Security Chip like the more expensive 13 and 15-inch models.
2018 vs 2019 Apple MacBook Pro
There are not many external changes in the new iteration but some key improvements have been introduced. The 2019 variants use the latest Intel processors, delivering 2 times faster performance than the 2018 models. The keyboard has been improved significantly to reduce failures which were pretty common up till the 2018 models.
If you are someone who is more into the design and outlook of devices, you can opt for either of the iterations as they both look the same on the outside. However, the 2018 models will give you better value for money. If you are just investing in the 2019 model because of the better keyboard, then the wisest decision would be to wait for the 16-inch variant rumoured to be released by the end of this year!
